Dyer Fieldsa is an American mixed media artist and poet newly based in San Francisco, CA. He draws inspiration from Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Pablo Picasso, Raymond Saunders, Gustav Klimt, and a lifelong love of graphic novels and graphic design to paint intimate portraits of his inner dialogue.
His vision incorporates the use of acrylic, spray paint, and oil pastel to capture the immediacy of every day thoughts and emotions on canvas. Dyer's art interacts with the viewer through the usage of poetry, phrases, and images allowing the viewer to derive a personal and deeper meaning.
Recently, Dyer worked in collaboration with opera singer, Kaya Giroux, to create the recital art for her recital, Queen Behavior, at Carnegie Mellon University. Dyer’s poetry is also in the process of being set to music by composer and singer, Jacob Berger. One of Dyer’s most recent pieces, Warhol, can currently be seen for sale at Shoppe B x Brenda Friday Design.
Dyer began painting at a young age. He attended the Community College of Allegheny County and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where he received an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. He has since shown at the Digging Pitt 1 and 2, The Clay Penn, BE Galleries, Gallery Chiz, and La Porta Blu in Rome.
